PAUD DAY 4 : FAREWELL!

May 8th 2015

The time had finally come; this was our last time to teach the children in PAUD An-Nur.
Because today was Friday, there is no lesson to be taught in the class, all the children wore sport uniforms and can go home earlier in Friday. But we decided to show some fun experiments to them.
For the first experiments, we had “Water Tornado”. This experiment mainly showed the correlation of pressure and water flow. The children were very excited and eager to try even though they always fail to make the tornado inside the bottles. As soon as they got bored with the first experiments, we went on to the next experiments; separating the yellow part of the egg from the white part- using only plastic bottle. This experiment was tricky and needs a lot of concentration, that’s why we were failed at the first try, but we did it on the second try. The children looked so surprised and confused but curious. After that, they had breakfast time as usual, and after the class ended, we said farewell speech for the children and the teachers because this was the last time for us to teach in PAUD An-Nur.

Second Experiment

Our task for teaching PAUD in order to get Community Service point was done, we were no longer required to teach. We were glad because it’s finally over, but we also sad that we no longer have the quality time with the teachers and children in PAUD An-Nur because we had many valuable experiences there. There we can learn to put faith in God in every activities, like the school always did, pray before start the class, pray before eating your meals, pray before you going back to home, and pray for your parents. Next, we can learn to care for each other, and not being a self-centered person, like all the teachers showed to us, and many more. It seems like the value of Pancasila has been well applied by PAUD An-Nur and it is good for the children, and also for us as the students.

We got the certificate!

PAUD An-Nur had given us an opportunity to learn many precious experiences, and this is our time to give back. From our observation regarding to the condition in the school, we decided to buy a fan which is useful for drive away the heat and make the children and teachers more comfortable in the class. We also had prepared a little gift for each child; consist of books, pencil, eraser, some snacks and milk. For each class, we bought board markers, board marker refill, board erasers, learning posters, and hand soaps. We gave what we could give. But still, these things were not comparable with all of the valuable experience that we got there.

This may be the last time for us to teach them, but not our last time to visit them, we could meet again anytime with the children and teachers in PAUD An-Nur, because giving time for togetherness are the best gift to maintain good relationship. Well said, see you again PAUD An-Nur!

PAUD DAY 3 : GRADUATION DAY

April 30th 2015

Because of the hectic week of Midterm test on the end of the month, we had difficult time to arrange our visit to PAUD An-Nur, we had to reschedule it, then. This was the third time we visited the children in PAUD An-Nur, not in every Wednesday like we usually did, we had to visit them on Thursday.

We planned to take some formal pictures with the teachers and children in PAUD An-Nur, so we wore our fanciest clothes: the combination of Batik and our University's blazer. The school was so busy and crowded when we first arrived in the school, we were so clueless and had no idea about what was going on there, but luckily, we came in the right time to take some pictures.
They held a graduation day for the children in the B class. The teachers and parents dressed their children with mini graduation uniforms and they hired a photographer to snap the moments, the teachers were also wearing nice blue uniforms. The children looked way too cute and the teachers were beautiful.

The other classes, the Play group and A Class still had lesson to be taught, even though the teachers were so busy handling the graduation for B Class, then, it was our job to help the teachers to look after and accompanied the children.

Our main topic today was the universe and celestial objects. We taught the children about the sun, stars, rainbow, moon and the other planets; we draw the picture of them in the board and asked the children what its name in English, after that, we sang some of the Indonesian children’s songs along with them; “Ambilkan Bulanku…”, “Bintang Kecil” and “ Pelangi Pelangi”. The kids sang with loud voice, almost like yelling, but that’s what made them funny and cute. They were so enthusiastic and couldn’t wait for the breakfast time, and finally the class ended 30 minutes after they had their breakfast.

Again, we had great time in PAUD AN-Nur.

Congratulations for the kids in B class, study hard and be a good kid, we hope you all have great future ahead!
